Last but not least on the search for the best beach - public beaches!! Here is a list of some of the ones that I have heard about:
Cabbage Beach - ideal for swimming, beach walking, sun-bathing. Opportunities for water skiing, snorkeling, and parasailing. Also, get a masage on the beach there!
Cable Beach - Plenty of space for sunbathing. Also opportunities for many water sports.
Da Flat - named for the fishing flats that it sits between. kind of secluded. Nature lovers will like this beach
Delaporte Beach - a former plantation. Cannot find much more info.
Goodman's Bay - Joggers and exercise enthusiasts often use this beach to workout. found just before the resort are of Cable Beach. Plenty of recreational areas for children.
Loop View Beach - provides excellent photo opportunities of the water. Offers benches. Has a limited sand bank. Good for wading in the water.
Montagu Beach - favorite spot for wading and picnicking. Adjacent to the beach vendors sell fresh seafood, fruits and vegetables year round.
Orange Hill Beach - popular with residents on the weekends but during the week you practically have the beach to yourself. Powdery white sand here!
Sandyport Beach - linked to a Venice-like resort
Saunders Beach - popular with visitors and locals too
Viewpoint Beach - limited sand bank. great photo opportunities. benches are available. Good for wading.
Western Esplanade - Joins the beach of Arawak Cay and Junkanoo Beach. Near the cruise ship dock.
Yamacraw Hill Beach - located at the end of Prince Charles Drive. Turnaround spot for residents doing walking exercises.
